Gurkha Evil. This is another one I've been anxious to try out. It came highly recommended from a co-worker and I've been fond of much of Gurkha's output. The Evil didn't disappoint. At least, not at the end. It started of a bit on the meh side. There was flavor, but nothing that stood out. About halfway through, though, it exploded with taste. A bit nutty and woody with a subtle sweetness to it. Not quite in the finger-burner class, but definitely a good cigar. Well, half a good cigar. I'm not sure that bland first half justifies the price.
5 Vegas Limitada 2011. It was a bit on the full-bodied side with loads of cedar, spices, and a slight, leathery sweetness to it. I can see this one being a hit with some (like The Old Man) but it wasn't my cup of tea.
Obsidian. I was excited to try this one after reading about it. It looked great, with a dark, oily wrapper and it was priced in a good, everyday range. Unfortunately, the taste was a bit of a letdown. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't all that memorable. There wasn't much of a distinctive taste to it. It was just sort of there. A bit like the Uzi I had a few weeks ago.
Alec Bradley SCR (Select Cabinet Reserve). It looks like these aren't being sold alone anymore. I got it as part of a sampler with a bunch of other Alec Bradleys. Using much of the same tobacco as the Tempus, it was no surprise that it had a similar taste. However, the different wrapper left the SCR without the slight sweetness that the Tempus had. A good cigar, but outshined by the Prensado and Black Market.
